"Give us this day our daily bread."

When teaching His disciples how to pray, Jesus included this line that both recognizes our need for God's provision and boldly requests it.

It calls to mind the experience Israel had in the wilderness, when they literally relied on God to provide their daily through the manna.

It is so tempting to try to control the future in our lives through overworking and engineering the risk out of everything, but this kind of control is always an illusion.

God holds the future, not us.
